The Carrie Blast Furnaces, on the Monongahela River in Rankin and Swissvale, are the surviving ironworks of a Homestead Steel Works plant that operated from 1907 to 1978 and are now a National Historic Landmark. VisitPA lists them as haunted, with visitors reporting unexplained sounds, voices and shadowy figures in the industrial ruins; the stories are those of visitors rather than documented events.
