Blood's Point Cemetery takes its name from Arthur Blood, the first white settler in Flora Township, who purchased the land for his farm in the 1840s. It has since become one of Illinois's most talked-about haunted cemeteries: visitors report orbs, mist, a barn that appears and vanishes, phantom vehicles, and a red-eyed dog said to bite and then disappear before it can be caught. Photographs taken here are also said to consistently fail to develop.
Small township cemetery on Blood's Point Road. Visit during daylight and treat the graves with respect; do not touch the stones, and do not go after dark.
