Baughman Cemetery, donated by John Baughman in 1840 and maintained today by an association founded in 1926, is a small but still-active rural cemetery between Minonk and El Paso. Local legend holds that a figure can be seen hanging lifeless from a tree on the far side of the graveyard around midnight. Visitors also report orbs of light and the sound of old-fashioned drumming, as if from a war march, drifting through the grounds.
Small rural cemetery kept up by a local association. Visit during daylight and treat the graves with respect.
