The Wyoming Frontier Prison in Rawlins, the state's first penitentiary, held prisoners from 1901 to 1981, and about 200 people died here, most through executions and inmate violence. Ghost Adventures investigated it in a 2013 episode. Visitors report being touched on the shoulder, hair tugged and cell doors opening and closing, and Travel Wyoming tells of a pie lady said to haunt it. These are visitor accounts. It runs history tours and October haunted tours.
Museum with guided tours and a walking path to the old prison cemetery; haunted tours run each October, so check wyomingfrontierprison.org.
