T'Frere's House is an Acadian-style house in Lafayette built in 1880 that has operated as a bed and breakfast since 1982. Its ghost is said to be the woman who built the home with her family, who lost her husband and child to yellow fever and died on the property. The Advocate has listed it among the haunted places to visit in Acadiana. Guests and staff report footsteps, piano music, cold spots, and lights and pots and pans that seem to move on their own. The owners do not advertise the haunting, but staff are glad to share their own stories with guests.
Working bed and breakfast open to overnight guests; reservations through the inn's site or phone, 337-984-9347. Staff are generally available during the day.
