Old Sacramento's underground spaces are the remains of ground-floor rooms buried when the city raised its streets after the 1860s floods. The Sacramento History Museum runs guided underground tours, and Halloween-season ghost tours tell stories of figures such as the murder victim Mary Shaw. Ghost Adventures investigated the tunnels in 2011.
