The Liberty Theater in downtown Astoria opened in 1925 as the first theater rebuilt after the 1922 Astoria fire, and is now a nonprofit performing arts center. It is widely called haunted, with a regular spot on Astoria's ghost tour. Staff say the spirit is a man named Paul, nicknamed Handsome Paul, who wears a white tuxedo and a panama hat and sometimes slams doors and makes noises.
Working performing arts center; check the box office for shows, and Astoria ghost tours pass through the downtown area.
