Hummel Park is a wooded city park on the bluffs north of Omaha and the subject of some of the city's best-known urban legends, collected in the book The Legend of Hummel Park and Other Stories. Nebraska haunted-places lists describe a staircase said to have a different number of steps each time they are counted, a husband's ghost and an "albino farm" legend that dates back to at least the 1960s. These are folklore, not documented events, and the park is also a popular hiking area.
Public city park with hiking trails and a long wooden staircase, open during daylight hours.
