Dolan Hall was formerly a convent before its conversion to a Fairfield University residence hall. A widely told story about a nun who was assaulted and later took her own life is not true, according to residents and university lore, but a separate claim is: a student died in what is now Dolan 403, and the room was taken offline afterward because of uncontrollable temperature swings that couldn't be fixed. Students in the rooms below have reported hearing furniture being moved late at night in the room above — only to find, when they went up to investigate the noise, that everyone up there was already asleep.
