Fairbank was a railroad and mining supply town on the San Pedro River that served nearby Tombstone, with a population of about 1,500 at one point and a school that closed in 1944. The Bureau of Land Management now keeps it as a historic townsite, with the restored schoolhouse serving as a small museum and an interpretive trail.
Open daily in daylight for self-guided walks; the schoolhouse museum keeps limited hours.
