Concordia Cemetery in El Paso was founded in 1856 and holds many thousands of burials, including the gunfighter John Wesley Hardin and lawman Dallas Stoudenmire, Buffalo Soldiers, pioneers and many children who died in epidemics. Visitors have reported children laughing and playing at night near the children's section, hoofbeats, and the murmur of voices they cannot make out. Volunteer groups offer tours of the historic grounds.
Historic cemetery open to visitors in daylight; uneven ground, and some sections are restored while others are not. Please treat it as a burial ground and do not disturb markers.
