Atlantic City was founded in 1868, as the gold rush was fading, and survives as a small, still-inhabited semi-ghost town in the Wind River foothills. The Atlantic City Mercantile has served the town in various forms since 1893, and a saloon, Miner's Grubstake, carries on the prospector tradition.
