Alton Town Hall is a red-brick municipal building from 1894 with a clock tower on Monument Square. New Hampshire haunted-places lists include it for stories told by town officials and residents of heavy footsteps and the sound of furniture moving overhead when no one is on the floor above, along with doors that open and close by themselves and unexplained voices.
Working town hall, open during business hours for town business; please be respectful of staff.
