Originally three separate residences that burned in 1820, the 17Hundred90 Inn & Restaurant was rebuilt as a single building in 1821 on President Street and is one of Savannah's most visited haunted lodgings today. Its best-known ghost is Anna, tied to Room 204: legend holds she fell in love with a sailor in the early 1800s who left to go to sea without saying goodbye after promising to marry her, and that she watched his ship depart from her window before taking her own life in grief. Guests in Room 204 report jewelry and clothing moved to unlikely places, like planters or behind bookshelves, along with a nudging sensation and bedcovers pulled at night; actress Miley Cyrus, staying there while filming on nearby Tybee Island, said she found a small handprint on her boot after a stay and attributed it to Anna. The inn is also said to be haunted separately in its kitchen and bar areas, with staff and guests reporting cameras and other electronics failing only in those specific spots.
